DR. JOSHUA NASS APPOINTED CHIEF OF NEUROLOGY, MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF THE STROKE PROGRAM AT DETROIT HENRY FORD ST. JOHN HOSPITAL

On July 1, 2025, Dr. Joshua Nass, neurologist at MIND, will officially step into the roles of Chief of Neurology and Medical Director of the Stroke Program at Detroit Henry Ford St. John Hospital (formerly Ascension St. John Hospital). He succeeds Dr. Paul Cullis, who is retiring after 25 years in the role, and who personally selected Dr. Nass as his successor.

In his new leadership position, Dr. Nass will manage the hospital’s neurology department and continue fostering the collaborative, high-quality culture that has grown at St. John. Dr. Nass will oversee both clinical and administrative aspects of neurological care, including developing clinical services and continuing research, education, and faculty development within the program. “We’re committed to ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care by partnering with skilled, well-credentialed neurologists,” Dr. Nass said. “Our goal is to surround patients with the very best in neurological expertise.”

Maintaining the hospital’s designation as a Comprehensive Stroke Center is a top priority. Dr. Nass will lead initiatives to continuously improve outcomes through rigorous data tracking and multidisciplinary stroke review meetings.

“With the joint venture between Ascension St. John and Henry Ford, this is an exciting and unique opportunity to strengthen and unify stroke care across systems,” Dr. Nass said. “I’m excited to help lead efforts that enhance care coordination, apply data-driven insights, and ensure we’re delivering the most advanced, timely stroke treatment possible. I’m honored to be chosen for this position so early in my career.”

The MIND inpatient neurology service has been well-received at the hospital, and this new leadership role reinforces the strength of that ongoing partnership with Henry Ford.

Congratulations to Dr. Nass on this exciting new chapter.
